Manasquan, N.J. "The Future of Women's Healthcare – 2005," a special teleconference organized by the editorial staff of Wellness Program Management Advisor and WellnessJunction.com, and sponsored by the Managed Care Information Center and Health Resources Publishing, has been scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 21 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time.
Today's health, wellness, managed care and women's health professionals are increasingly aware of the gaps and challenges in providing comprehensive healthcare services to women. "The Future of Women's Healthcare - 2005," a 90-minute live conference, will focus on addressing these challenges by first focusing on new clinical and health research activities, then look at what is working now and what's ahead for hospital and health plan-based women's health programs.
Women's health program offerings range from minimal at some hospitals and managed care organizations, to full-blown, ahead-of-the-curve clinical and education programs that address the essence of the range of needs in women's health, according to Robert K. Jenkins, publisher of Wellness Program Management Advisor.
There is a need for outreach programs to educate women as many are clamoring for information, understanding and empathy on major issues including health risk factors, heart disease, osteoporosis, breast cancer and obesity.
Expert speaker panelists Dr. Rosaly Correa-de-Araujo, MSc, PhD, Senior Advisor on Women's Health, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality; Wendy Kuran, Vice President, Women's Health Solutions, PacifiCare Health Systems, Inc.; and Bonnie Wittman, RN, MBA, Director of Women's Health, Florida Health System, will cover topics including:
A 30 minute question and answer session will also be included.
